“To Walk By Faith, And Not By Sight” – Barbara Brown Taylor, M.Div ‘76
Last month, Time magazine featured YDS alum Barbara Brown Taylor, M.Div ’76 for its cover story, titled Barbara Brown Taylor Faces the Darkness. Time also named Taylor as one of its 100 most influential people, rightly grouping her in the Artists category.
Her recent book, Learning to Walk in the Dark, is a meditation and examination of our spiritual encounters with darkness. Last Fall she gave a talk at the Rothko Chapel in Houston with the same title; it is linked above, and you are highly encouraged to watch it. You will hear the voice of one of America’s leading theologians discuss both her time at YDS, and her encounters with the darkness that we all in time will face.
You can read more about Taylor and her recent, fascinating book, here, in an article by Jared Gilbert, M.Div '12.
